These individuals have given their time and equipment in support of the Great Mound replica.

The Catahoula Historical Society & Museum appreciates all volunteers and helpers.

George Wood

After the Police Jury scrapped the grass from the replica’s location we needed someone to disc the ground surface before the original dirt was moved in. Local farmer George Wood stepped forward with his tractor and disc to take care of the need.

Home Hardware Center in Jonesville donated all of the material we need to make a sign for the replica.

Several businesses have told us that it seems like a lot of people that are passing through have asked about the replica. With this in mind it was decided to have a sign made to help explain that Jonesville is the home of an ancient Indian Mound.

Home Hardware donated the plywood, Plexiglas, paint, post and etc. to make the sign.

Thank you Home Hardware, we couldn’t have done it without you.

Glen Womack, at Womack Trenching, has been a tremendous benefactor during the construction of the Great Mound replica.

While the National Guard was able to move massive amounts of dirt with very large bulldozers, they didn’t have the critically needed equipment that could work the very steep slopes of the replica. They needed a D5 that could move its blade in several different directions.

When we contacted Glen to ask if he knew anyone with a D5 bulldozer he didn’t even blink an eye. Glen said, “I have one and it will be on the site today”. Glen provided his D5 dozier for numerous days.

Glen, thank you for your support.

Womack Trenching is located at 5739 Hwy. 8, Harrisonburg, La. 71340
