Saturday, September 18, 2010 is the date of the Jena Band of Choctaw’s Pow Wow.
Location: Jena Band of Choctaw Tribal Office Grounds located on Hwy 84 West, Trout, La. 71371, for an address to enter into GPS systems: 1052 Chanaha St. Trout, La. 71371.
Gourd Dancing begins at 10:00 a.m.
Grand Entry - 11:30 a.m.
3:30 - 4:30 Lunch Break for Pow wow Dancers and Drums, Keynote Speaker, Address by the Chief, Introduction of New JBC Princess and other royalties, Mississippi Band of Choctaw Social Dancers
Also to include a dunking booth, petting zoo, traditional palmetto hut with traditional story telling, and long bow demonstrations. We have Oklahoma Choctaw members that will be selling traditional Choctaw foods and their very own home made rootbeer.
Dancers from all over the Gulf Coast, as far away as Florida, are coming in for this wonderful celebration of our heritage.
It should make for lots of fun.
Entry fee is 5.00 to spectators and free to all dancers in regalia.
Guest drums are welcome as well.

Southern Host Drum: A.C. Woodland Singers
We are in the process of as asking for Donations and advertisement space is available in our programs if any businesses or individual is interested. If so please give us a call at 318-992-2717.
Additional vendors are welcomed, and spaces are still available for craft or food booths.
