Second Post Office

This picture shows Jonesville's second post office under construction.

In the early days a local business was used as the post office. Eventually Jonesville's first post office building was erected on this location. However, it was destroyed by a fire, which also destroyed a lot of downtown Jonesville. That fire destroyed buildings from the southwest corner of Mound and First Streets southward to, and including, the original post office.

This building is now the home of Margueitte Ford. She, along with her family, lived upstairs while downstairs served as the post office. Her father, served as Jonesville's postmaster for a long time.
