Great Indian Mound

This was the second tallest Indian mound in North America at one time. It was torn down with its dirt used to build the bridge approach to the Black River bridge in Jonesville.

This picture was made from the second floor of what was then Jonesville High School. That school was located in the block where the Jonesville Town Hall is today.

The picture is looking east, and the Great Mound stood on the city block where the Catholic Church and other houses are today.
